Cannot update an .exe

My .xml looks like the following:

New version 1.0.0.3 is available for myapp

<version>1.0.0.3</version>

<changelog></changelog>

When I start the application it does recognize there is a new update available which is good, but when I click update, it like shows the update dialog and then disapears again and it doesn't download the file.

When I use .txt files instead of the .exe like so:

New version 1.0.0.3 is available for myapp

<version>1.0.0.3</version>

<changelog></changelog>

Then it works fine. I don't understand why this is happening please help me out :)

Your XML looks fine. I suggest you to download the source code of AutoUpdater.NET from below link and add AutoUpdater.NET project to your solution. Then reference the AutoUpdater.NET from project. This way you can debug and find out what is causing this problem.

Yeah that was the right thing to do, I got it working, still don't know excacly what it was that caused the problem originally but it works fine.

I love this library, it's so easy to use and straight forward, I am a noob at c# and even I can understand everything that is going on in the code.

Thanks so much!
