Unable to locate .MSI file

Hi Experts,

i've used the AutoUpdatorDotNet dll to auto-update my application.

I've done all things according to documentation as your site.

App Check for the Updates perfectly.
Download the Update Perfectly

But... When try to install the New Update it shows an error

"An error occured Attempting to install AutUpdate(project name)" and in Details pane... it shows "Unable to locate application file 'AutUpdate.msi"


Please help me out.

Looks like you have following type of problem. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3868823/setup-exe-cant-find-the-msi-file. As it suggest in one of the answer use AutUpdate.msi directly. If that doesn't solve the problem give me the link with the setup file or post the screenshot of the error screen.

I've given the direct path of AutUpdate.msi file in AppCast.xml to download and install now it gives me this error
while i don't have installed the newest version of the application


Please help me out
i am sure i did something wrong...

Look like it's not the problem with AutoUpdtaer.Net. It's the problm with your installer. Which appllication you use to build the installer?

i am using visual studio installer> setup wizard of .Net framework 3.5 with visual studio 2010

I know it is not a problem of AutoUpdator dll ... there is a problem at my end.

can you please help me out .

I'm not familiar with visual studio installer. I think you should use NSIS installer. It provides more control over installation process. Here is the tutorial.
